cambridge ...

As calendar season came around again I realized I hadn't shot much of Cambridge this year. I mean for the record it's not like I don't have you know hundreds of other Cambridge pictures but I wanted a little new work in the 2015 calendar. So anyways I took a couple of trips into Cambridge last week, & now I'm super excited for winter (& maybe snow pictures in Cambridge. So this weeks sisterhood stories post features some new pretties from one of my very favorite places! & don't forget to head on round the circle for more pretties & inspiration starting with Kay

ps. In case you were wondering here is the calendar cover & the you can find it on etsy!

procrastinating ...

First of all ... how is it September already??? No really when did this happen! I am in shock! Anyways I am busy trying to organize my office, clean stuff out & I just got back from a beautiful wonderful trip to France (oh how i love France) & i feel like we have so much going on for the rest of the year my brain is moving between procrastinating & not enough hours in the day (& yes i am well aware the solution to that is not to procrastinate). So anyways I have nothing this week, just a couple of photos of France (I am in the midst of editing) & then i must return to my attempt at being productive! & you my wonderful viewers can make your way around the Sisterhood Circle starting with Karrie in the hopes that they have something a little more substantial to share with you & i will return to the cleaning & decluttering. Happy hump day everyone! xx

the Isle of Seil ...

After a loooong night ... day two was spent on the Isle of Seil. Part of the Slate Islands, southwest of Oban it is linked to the "mainland" by the Clachen Bridge otherwise known as the "Bridge over the Atlantic" ... & boy did it have a hump! We explored the tiny little town of Ellenabeich (used in the filming of Ring of Bright Water) & had lunch at a lovely pub called the Tigh an Truish otherwise known as the House of Trouser. So today less words & more photos ... enjoy! xx

cambridge in the fog ...

Ok where were we ... oh yes ... fog ... England ... nature ... & a road trip to Cambridge. Yesterday i attempted to share a whole host of pretty pictures ... but well i failed with my ability to babble & go off on tangents. So today I am taking you on a trip down to Cambridge, one foggy morning in March ... (& way less talking this time i promise) ...

I grew up in Cambridge & whilst i knew it was a beautiful city I believe i took it for granted. Now having returned to England I have 3 or 4 years to explore my homeland, camera in hand & I am working incredible hard at it. Not everyone gets the chance to see the world, travel & walk away with beautiful reminders so i feel as if this is something I have to do. & so often we want the blue skies & the pretty clouds, we forget that beauty isn't necessarily found in those things. So keeping this in mind, a morning spent wandering through a fog filled Cambridge sounded wonderful. & well it was ...

Literally just off the bus I decided to dart onto Christ Piece & saw this beautiful moment ... like something out of Narnia ... oh by the way i should mention now all these images were captured using my Lensbaby Composer Pro & Edge 80 optic.

pretty rain drops seen out the corner of my eye ...

Christ College ...

senate house passage ...

one of those moments you come across that leaves you in awe ...

& just as stunning in colour ...

& the epitome of all things Cambridge.

Cambridge is one of those cities that has a timeless feel ... so much history, it could almost be 1913 instead of 2013.

Ok enough photos for one day (though honestly can you ever get enough) ... I must get back to doing something my husband considers "productive". Have a wonderful day ... & remember that whilst we all get the winter blues you may be surprised some days, so don't think about it before grabbing your camera & heading out because beautiful can be found everywhere!

xx
